Rules for Captain’s Points

We have always used the Tagging language in the By laws as guidance for Captain points awards.

 

Section VIII para c  Sentence defining who gets credit for tagging Captain as the same criteria for Captains angler points awards. That states that the owner of the boat is the Captain and in their ABSENCE The owner designates who is in charge of the boat and is acting Captain for the trip and gets credit for a Captains point.

VIII.  AWARDS

c. Credit as a tagging boat captain will be given to the owner of the boat from which a fish is caught and tagged, or in his/her absence, a person designated by the owner to be in charge of the boat. Such credit for boat captain tagging shall be given to the boat owner or designated person regardless of who catches the fish or physically places the tag in the fish.
